Founded in 1985 under the Ontario Co-operative Corporations Act.

La Coop Rochelandaise is a French-language housing cooperative located in the Clarence-Rockland area, operating as a not-for-profit entity. Its mission is to encourage and promote cooperative principles while providing the community with affordable housing. It embodies a community environment that values mutual aid and volunteerism.

The benefits

By becoming a member of a housing cooperative, you’ll benefit from affordable, secure housing. Rents are managed collectively by the members, who all have voting rights on major decisions. For example, as a member, you have the opportunity to vote for the adoption of the budget at the annual general meeting, where future rental rates are set. You can also stand for election to the Board of Directors.

Living in Rochelandaise means being part of a big family...

We moved into the Coopérative Rochelandaise in 1991. I served on the Board of Directors and as a volunteer and worker for several years. Living in La Rochelandaise means being part of a large family with the advantage of low-cost rent and services. Now that we're older, in May 2024, the cooperative has been able to offer us housing adapted to our needs without having to move away from our community and friends.

A safe and pleasant place to live

Raymond and I are members of the Rochelandaise Co-Op since September 2015. Thanks to an intelligent, well-informed and prudent management team and to the members of the administrative committee made up of volunteer members devoted to the well-being of the community members, La Rochelandaise is a safe and pleasant place to live.

Quiet, friendly, safe and welcoming

My name is Manon, and I've had the privilege and joy of living at the Rochelandaise Coop since May 2024. It's a quiet, friendly, safe and welcoming neighbourhood!
